My name is Audrianna, and this is my story.
"Before I was a Christian, I was an atheist and didn’t believe in God. My life was really hard. There was a lot of toxicity in my family, and my mental health was struggling. My dad was in and out of my life, and my stepdad neglected me.
Because of that, I started hurting myself as my mental health got worse. I was looking for love in the wrong places and got into inappropriate relationships because I was trying to replace the father figure I didn’t have. I felt ashamed, but I kept going because I just wanted to feel loved. I became very suicidal and thought about ending my life often.
I first came to Urban Story through my sister. At first, I still didn’t believe in God, but after I got baptized, things started to change. Later, I drifted away and went back to my old ways. It wasn’t until I started Fire Starters and ended up in the hospital after threatening to take my life that I realized I needed help. I believe God brought me there so I could meet people who helped me find Him again.
Now, I’m getting help for my mental health and I follow Christ daily. God has been blessing my life, and I’ve grown closer to Him. I even experienced Him in a powerful way at youth camp, where my faith was strengthened.
Today, my life is different. I’m walking with Jesus, and I’m not who I used to be.
One thing I would tell someone is that Jesus can meet you at your lowest point. When you feel abandoned, He stays. When you feel ashamed, He offers forgiveness. When you feel like giving up, He gives you strength. He brings peace in chaos and light in dark moments. If He could pull me out, He can do the same for anyone.
My name is Audrianna, and this is my story."
